“I did some research while I was in the hospital.” Dashira’s voice came out low, threaded with a fear I’d never heard from her before. “I think that girl is a Moonchild one with Compulsion.”

Her eyes pinned to mine, unsettled. “Malrikarion, I’m afraid for us. If that’s true, you can’t keep her safe.”
