A few days passed in blissful silence and surprisingly, peace.

To Azzurra’s astonishment, Marcello had been actively avoiding her. After all his erratic behavior and unhinged antics, the sudden distance felt like a miracle. He hadn’t been seen in his chambers recently, and whenever they happened to cross paths in the halls, he breezed past her without so much as a glance as though she were invisible.

It was glorious.
