I couldn’t stop smiling, and Auren looked just as undone by happiness as he held me close, the two of us swaying in our own little world. Technically, I should still be furious with him he had walked out on me right after we slept together for the first time but tonight, joy outweighed anger. The queen’s words had given me something I hadn’t dared hope for: a future.
