With the uneasy weight of the afternoon still upon them, Sigourney and Theodore hailed a taxi to return to Twilight Estate. They had thought matters were gradually settling down, but reality proved that perhaps they had relaxed their vigilance too soon.

The moment they entered the car, an inexplicable sense of unease lingered, even though the driver appeared kind and honest.
