Lucian and Samira got into his car. The city lights were soft outside, but inside the car, the silence felt heavy. Lucian glanced at Samira, then gently held her hand again. She pulled back quickly, her eyes wide, panicking.
“What happened?” Lucian asked softly, his voice calm but concerned.
Samira could not answer. Her senses screamed that this touch was familiar, comforting even, but her mind refused to accept it. That night’s incident still haunted her, the memory stuck in her heart like a shadow.
Lucian noticed her hesitation. He knew it was not shyness—this hesitation came from that night, that one night that changed something unspoken between them.
“Shall I ask something to you?” she said suddenly, turning to look at him. Her voice shook slightly, but her eyes were determined.
Lucian nodded. “Ask,” he said.
She took a deep breath and began, “You know, I love Sam… for the last one year. We are friends a long time, just fell in love about one year. He proposed first. I ignored him at first, but later, I accepted his love. But I never promised him marriage. From the first day, I said if my mom and dad say yes, only then I can marry him. He accepted that too.”
Lucian listened quietly. He nodded slowly but said nothing. Then she asked again, hesitation in her voice, “Don’t you want to ask me anything? I am in a relationship almost one year… you are pure, still no one else. But me… Don’t you want to know my past?”
Lucian smiled faintly, “Whatever happened in your life is the past. I am with you in the present and the future. So I don’t care about the past. Don’t worry.”
Samira felt a little relieved. She was not ready to share that night’s incident with him yet, but hearing his soft words made her heart relax a little.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Sam’s financier kept calling him repeatedly, asking about Samira. If Sam didn’t deliver her, he warned, there would be consequences. Sam was shocked. He knew the man was dangerous, but he hadn’t thought it could go this far.
The man threatened, “If you don’t bring me that girl, I will destroy your father’s business.” Sam and Ira didn’t know what to do.
Sam tried calling Samira. At that moment, she was traveling with Lucian. When her phone showed Sam’s name, her heart skipped a beat. Lucian noticed, calm as always.
“Answer the call,” he said gently.
“No need,” she said, tense.
Lucian looked at her carefully. “Is that your ex?”
She hesitated, then nodded. Lucian smiled faintly. “Don’t you want to stop his calls?”
She was surprised. Lucian said nothing wrong, just answer and move on.
Samira thought for a moment, then found a solution. She pressed the speaker option and said, “Hello.”
On the other side, Sam shouted, “Hey Samira! Where are you? How many times I called you? I even came to your home! You have to give the money to that person today. Only one day left. Why are you so careless?”
Her blood boiled, but she controlled her anger. “No issues. I already settled the money with them.”
Sam was shocked. At that moment, Lyra tried to explain something to Sam, but he waved her off and continued talking to Samira.
“My dad had insurance for one lakh dollars,” Samira explained calmly. “They gave it yesterday. I used that money to pay off my debts. Now all problems are solved. No need for money.”
Sam was unable to believe it. Samira smiled slightly. “It’s okay. I am a little busy. I will call you later.” Without waiting for his reply, she cut the call.
He didn’t expect such courage and smart thinking from her. First, she ignored him and cut the call. Second, all her problems were solved herself. Sam was completely shocked.
Lyra whispered, “I just met the debt collector. He said Samira already settled everything. How she got so much money?”
Sam replied, “Everything she told me was true. I don’t know how she did it. What can we do now?”
Lyra sighed, “We have only one option left — her dream.”
Sam nodded. “Yes. Only her dream we can think of. She agreed to it too.”
Lucian, who had been quietly observing, shook her hand gently. “Super,” he said with a soft smile. “I didn’t expect such bravery. You handled him brilliantly.”
Samira smiled back, feeling a little proud. “I really don’t like to expose our marriage or relationship to them. I hate him,” she said softly.
Lucian asked, “Why? What happened between you two?”
Samira hesitated but spoke carefully. “We love each other… but he had affair with my friend Lyra. He cheated me while we were in a relationship.”
Lucian understood. He didn’t question her further. He just nodded, letting her share what she could.
“Okay, now let’s go to the restaurant,” Lucian said finally. She couldn’t ignore him. She agreed softly.
They reached the restaurant. Inside, one of Lucian’s business partners, a top-level woman almost equal in status to him, came to meet them. Her eyes immediately laid on Samira.
Samira felt tense under that gaze. She tried to stand tall, holding her purse a little tighter. The woman’s look was polite but sharp, measuring her silently.
Lucian noticed Samira’s unease and gently held her hand, giving her strength. “Don’t worry,” he whispered.
The businesswoman spoke, her voice smooth and confident. “Lucian, this is your wife?”
“Yes,” Lucian said simply. “Samira.”
Samira smiled politely. “Nice to meet you,” she said softly.
The woman’s eyes lingered on her for a few seconds, then she nodded. “Pleasure,” she said, her tone unreadable.
Lucian guided Samira to the table. “Sit here,” he said. She obeyed, still feeling nervous. The restaurant’s light was soft, but every gaze felt heavy.
They talked little at first. Lucian’s partner discussed business, projects, and plans. Samira listened quietly, understanding some, not all, but trying to be polite. Lucian occasionally looked at her, his soft smile reassuring her.
After a few minutes, Samira relaxed a little. She realized Lucian’s calm presence made the world feel safe. No matter who looked at her or judged her, he was there, protecting her silently.
Dinner went on slowly. Samira watched Lucian interact with his business partner. She noticed how confident and natural he was in his world, yet when he looked at her, his eyes softened completely. That made her heart flutter.
Inside, she felt many emotions — fear, pride, love, and a strange comfort she couldn’t explain. She was far from her simple village life, in a world so different and complex, yet she felt safe with him.
Lucian held her hand under the table again, softly. She looked at him, a faint smile forming on her lips. Her panic was gone, replaced by warmth and trust.
The dinner ended with polite goodbyes. Samira realized she survived this evening in his world not because of herself alone, but because of the silent support and care Lucian gave her. That made her feel stronger, braver, and loved.
On the way home, the car was quiet again. Samira rested her head slightly on the seat, thinking about the evening. She realized one thing clearly — no matter how big, rich, or powerful the world was outside, her heart was slowly finding home with Lucian.
Lucian glanced at her from time to time, smiling softly. He didn’t say much, but his hand occasionally brushed hers. Samira’s heart raced at the gentle touch. That night, she felt safe, loved, and special — the same way she felt the very first night with him.
The city lights passed slowly outside. In the quiet car, they both sat together, not needing words. The world outside was complicated and harsh, but inside, there was a calm, soft place just for them.
Samira closed her eyes briefly, a small smile on her lips. Lucian’s hand still held hers lightly, and she felt complete. That night, she knew — she could face anything, as long as he was there.
The car moved on quietly through the city. Lights blurred against the windows, but inside, a new chapter had quietly begun — one of trust, love, and courage.
