"...And that’s everything," I finished, exhaling softly as I clasped my hands together on my lap. Jameson sat on the hospital bed, his back slightly reclined against the pillows, watching me in silence. His dark brown eyes were locked on me, unreadable as ever, and the weight of his gaze made my stomach twist.

I had just told him everything about Adrian, about why I was at Nicholas’ apartment. I expected a reaction. A question. Maybe even a sarcastic remark.
