The chase into figment forest

The chase was hot as both wolves tore through the tick forest, dusting past leaves, branches and jumping past rocks and hills. As soon as he transformed into his wolf form, he became faster and more formidable. The white wolf was fast, but he was catching up with him. Desmond was speculative that it was male. Soon, he was running side by side with the wolf and got a more precise look at it. The wolf was white and brown mixed, it made him bewildered and to cogitate. Who was he? With his strange color, where was he from? He must be from a mystic tribe far into the west, he must be special.

Desmond wondered why a divergent looking wolf was snooping around in his company. Was it a spy from his father perhaps? But all his lifetime he had never seen a wolf with that strange color.  As he etched close to the running wolf, his eyes were still fixed on the polar of the wolf when he hit a tree in front of him.

Renee was on the run for the second time that day, first it was at Jacob Thane's pledge meeting, now with his son. If she got caught, it would be double bad for her. Up ahead, she spotted a place called figment forest. When she was a little wolf, her father would take her and her brothers to figment forest to teach them about the wild, werewolf history and survival skills, so she was accustomed to it. Figment forest was filled with sinkholes, mudpits and swamps deep enough to sink a whale. Since she knew every nook and cranny of figment forest, she would use the opportunity to trap her pursuer and hopefully evade him. If she gets lucky the swamps and mud pit would sink that useless thane and kill him in the most brutal way ever. That was her killing yet another thane.

She went for the bait and sought solace close to muddy Diane, the deepest mudpit around. And yes, the thane wolf came running behind her and fell pitifully into the mudpit.

The instant he fell inside the mudpit, he began to sink. Renee was highly satisfied. She came out from her hiding spot and watched Desmond sink in pure satisfaction. Desmond rustled his hands around the area in search of a way out, but it was all to no avail. Instead, the more he struggled to go up, he sank. His legs could not feel the bottom of the mudpit and the reality scared him.

“ Help, “ He called for the white wolf as the muddy current of the pit drew him beneath. But the white wolf elegantly stood at a safe distance and watched him.

“ Help, “ He called again. This time, his voice was frail and broken. The white wolf made no replies but just stood at a distance watching him. Desmond was puzzled, he stared deeply at the wolf's face in a bid to get an identity description. The white wolf had a slender, slim face. The eyes were narrow and sharp, like daggers tearing through thin wind. The white wolf had trenchant blue color eyes. Its eyes were so blue that it touched him with a cold effect. Another feature was the white hair of the wolf that was captivated by the night's wind. Desmond grew even more perplexed and thrown off balance by the emergence of the strange beautiful wolf.

Renee wished it was her fangs cutting Desmond's throat instead of the mudpit killing him, but she was still satisfied. She planned to remain there until he had fully sunk. Only then would she be sure that he was dead.

“ Please help, “ Desmond once again called from the ruins of the mudpit.

Renee cackled, she was still in her wolf form. When Desmond heard the cackle, it sounded like a female's voice to him but he wasn't fully sure. Little by little, his body began to fill the beneaths of the wretched mudpit. His body was stuck between the heavy weight that he couldn't move once he was in. Soon, all that was left was his head. And the white wolf didn't move, it didn't show any sign that it was going to render help. Desmond wondered if it was going to stand and watch him die.

“ Help me. “ That was Desmond's final call as his face was almost swallowed.

“ Die, you bloody thane. “ Renee said.

That was when Desmond verified that it was a female wolf.
