Renee poured a bucket of water on Desmond who laid numb on the floor, just by a river. Desmond woke, but he was weak and tired so his awakening was at a slow pace. He was still on his wolf form, and when he managed to see the white wolf, she had also not transformed. He tried to stand.

“ Don't stand, remain where you are. “ Renee told him.

“ Shut up. “ She lifted her hand and exposed the bullet of olid she snatched from the previous hot pursuit. “ If you make one silly move, I will force this olid into your blood stream. This time, there would be no saving your worthless life. “ 

Desmond heart pounced. Olids are very powerful in natural venoms. One olid could paralyze a werewolf for long, and if the olids were much, the werewolf could be paralyzed for life. 

“ fine, I will sit. “ Desmond obeyed and sat. 

“ I know who you are, “ She began, “ You are Desmond thane, first son of that thief Jacob thane. “ 

Desmond arched a brow at the insult being thrown at his father, he ignored the insult. “ and you are? “

“ I would prefer to be termed as the woman with a venomous olid that could permanently paralyze you. “ 

Desmond's curiosity pinched at the audacious woman who clearly sees his father as a thief.

Desmond saw the look of rage and contempt written in the woman's eyes. He could tell that her grievance was germane. “ And what did the Thane's steal from you? “

Renee was angry, she threw the empty bucket at Desmond. It hit him on the head viciously.

Desmond shook, he had to be weary of the woman. She was in possession of an olid, and he and lost the olid gun in the mudpit. She could end his life and he wasn't ready to die. Not when he just started his company.

Their eyes met as she told the story. Desmond could sense that her harsh behaviour softened as she told the story.

Renee gasped, the last thing she wanted was to be bounded to a thane.

If you would relax a bit about killing me, we have to find out what it means and why we had a vision at the same time. “ He gave her a trenchant look, glancing through her sudden delicate front, “ Was that why you saved me? “

After a long while of walking, Renee realized that they were no way near the exit. Infact, their location was dark. As they walked further, Renee spotted ahead of them a black mast of dimness filling the air. She now recognised where they were, she was terrified at the realization. It was dark valley, and even when she was young, she hadn't ventured inside dark valley before.

“ Oh my God, “ She replied. 

Desmond was already worried, he too could see the thick darkness ahead. “ Tell me the truth, are we lost? “
