Desmond anger was rising, “ How can we be lost? You said that your family use to visit this forest? Or were you lying? “

“ What will I gain by lying to you? “ Renee was hysterical. 

“ Then tell me where we are! “ 

“ Don't yell at me! “

Desmond grabbed his forehead in frustration, “ Tell me one simple thing, where in the hell are we? “ 

Renee felt trapped, her voice was cracked and low as she replied, “ Dark valley. “

At the sound of dark valley, Desmond glanced around their midst. And indeed, it was a dark place. It was so dark that he could barely see ahead. 

“ So we are lost in dark valley? “ 

“ It appears so. “ 

“ Shit! “ Desmond stamped his foot, “ I shouldn't have chased you. Where do we go from here? “ he turned to her as their eyes met. He could see the hint of fear in her eyes. “ You’re afraid? “

“ No_

“ I can see your eyes. You should have told me you know nothing of our surroundings. You liar. “

“ Don't call me liar, you thane thief. “

Desmond grinned, “ Where do we go from here? “

Renee glanced up, although dark valley was dark, she could see the moon shine effortlessly. The shine was above normal, it was magnetic and powerful. 

“ Something is off tonight. “ She stated. 

“ Yes, I am lost in a wretched forest with a bloodmoon. “ 

She eyed him, “ I mean with the night. We better get out of this forest quick. “ Renee began to walk backwards, “ We'll go back to where we came, we can't afford to get lost in dark valley. “ She glanced to the moon again, “ Not with this stainless moon. “ 

Desmond flickered, “ Stainless? “

“ Dont ask me daft questions, follow me. “ 

Desmond pushed his frustration inside as his only plight was to leave the forest. Then he would surely report the strange woman to his father. 

Their walk back to where they came was shortlived when Renee began to smell company. She sniffed hard and glanced over to Desmond who seemed like he picked the smell. 

“ Can you smell that? “ Renee asked. 

“ I can hear noises, “ Desmond answered. 

The two circled in the middle as Renee tried to gain knowledge of the smell she perceived while Desmond tried to hear accurately. 

“ Quick, duck! “ Renee's warning came too late as a black net launched at them, the  net covered them both. Renee, still in her wolf form tried to tear the net apart, but it was too hard for her. The space was cramped as Desmond was beneath her and she on top of him. His wolf was big ans energetic, she could tell by the way he breathed. He had wolf hair hanging on his face. As she stared at him, she later felt more frustrated. 

“ Will you do something thane, we are captured. “

“ Follow my lead, and for once bloodmoon, shut the fuck up. “ 

Soon, their abductors came. And they were all wolves. The night prevented both Renee and Desmond from seeing the faces of the wolves. But the number was six. Two of the wolves picked them from the ground and began to pull them away. Renee gasped as their location was further inside dark valley. 

“ I am a thane. I am Desmond thane, the first son of Jacob thane. “ Desmond began to speak to the abductors. “ my family would pay a hefty amount for my safe release, I assure you. I assume you know about the thaneblood and what we have. “ 

Renee hissed, “ This was your idea? “

“ Ssh, “ He gestured to her, “ So what do you say? How much do you all want, I can pay. “ 

His reply was utter silence as the wolves continued dragging them inside the dark valley. As they entered deeper, the trees began to diminish, Renee could hear the raw sounds of hawks screeching. Soon, the abductors opened a hole on the ground and dumped the net inside. The hole was later shut. 

The net flipped open and Renee jumped out of it. Desmond soon came out. 

“ do you know these wolves? “ Desmond queried. 

“ Because im a bloodmoon you think i know them? “ 

“ Do you give a question for a question alot? “ 

Renee placed her head on the mud walls, “ What do we do now? “

“ I should be asking you, miss my father used to take my brothers and i inside this forest. “ 

Renee swallowed, “ Shit. “ 

Few minutes later, two black wolves opened the hole, they had lit torches stick in her claws. 

“ Let us out of here. “ Renee scowled at them. 

“ Maybe you may get to see the light of day if you answer us truthfully. If you don't, we will set this hole on fire. “ The stoic voice of the first wolf was heard. 

“ How did you both enter into this forest? “ The wolf asked. 

“ I chased her into the forest, that is how we got in. “ Desmond hurriedly replied. 

“ how did you get in? “ The wolf asked Renee. 

“ How else? I ran with my feet and entered. “ She sarcastically replied. 

“ Can you quit being rude? We have been captured here. “ Desmond told her. 

“ How did you see the forest white wolf? “ the wolf asked closely. 

“ how do you mean? We have eyes and then we see, is this a joke? “ 

Desmond shoved Renee to the back and took the front, “ She said her father used to take to her and her brothers inside this forest. “ 

Renee growled, “ How dare you, you imbecile. “ 

“ How! “ The wolf yelled. 

“ If you know something, talk! “ Desmond laced at her. 

Before Renee could summon a reply, the wolf dropped the torches inside the hole and it caught fire. The wolves abandoned them later. The fire was spreading rapidly and haggardly. Renee and Desmond had shifted to the wall and there was no more space to cover. 

“ Come to think if it, you spoke of killing me and now we are both going to die. How comedic. “ Desmond replied.

“ What if I told you that I am satisfied, as long as you die. “

“ Crazy woman. “ 

The fire blazed past Renee. The epitome was much that some of the flame caught her right arm. She launched a loud howl in response to the burns. Her howl sent a different note to Desmond. Her wail played into his head which brought back a chilling memory of the time he drowned in the mudpit. He was anchored with a similar tough energy. He launched at Renee and picked her up with his jaw. Energised, he picked his weight up and flew from the hole a successful flight. Desmond landed safely outside the hole and dropped Renee on the ground.

When she woke, she saw that Desmond had saved them both. 

“ How did you do that? “ she asked him. 

“ it happened again, that strange manifestation. And it was because I heard your growl. “ He stared at her deeply. “ What does that mean? “ 

“ I don't know thane. “ 

Something bizarre happened again im figment forest. As Desmond stared into Renee's eyes, he could envision the moon sitting inside them. She also looked at him intensely as though she could see something in his eyes. For some reason, he could not take his eyes off from her, it was though he was fueled by an unknown magnetic force. He could hear her heartbeat and smell her breath. What was happening? Like a strong control, he moved over to her neck and bit her. 

Once her flesh came in contact with his mouth, the control got stronger. He took her by the neck and looked into her more deeply. Desmond's voice dimmed as he uttered the words, “ My mate. “
