Inside the echo

There was no up or down — only light.

Evelyn floated in it, weightless, surrounded by a vast lattice of shifting geometry. The space pulsed like a living diagram: glowing filaments of data winding through darkness, folding and unfolding into impossible shapes. Every color was alive. Every sound had edges.

At first, she couldn’t tell if she was falling or expanding.

Then she heard it — the faint, steady rhythm of breathing. Not her own.

> “Evelyn…”
