Serra, the housekeeper, had the evening off, so Jiro Cresta found himself scrubbing plates after dinner along with Kyon and Patch. He didn’t mind in the least.

Jiro found washing dishes relaxing for some reason. Lather, scrub, rinse, repeat. Very methodical. Simple. Except when he had to attack a stubborn caked-on piece of food. But even then, it felt like a problem to be solved and a tiny battle to be won.
