“Where’s Hector?” Mia asked, as we stepped outside the bar.

“I gave him the night off.” I guided her to a parking lot around back.

We passed through a narrow alley to where the hidden parking lot was. We walked through the lot of empty cars in silence, as I held onto Mia by the waist. She didn’t seem to mind it, so I kept my hand there.
