I open my eyes, and they land on the ceiling again. Why do I keep waking up like this?

A sigh escapes me as I once again sit up, holding the covers to my chest. I look to my right, and there is Damian, snuggled up beside me. The room is dark with only the glow of a nightlight somewhere along one of the walls.
