Sleep had become impossible.

I stood at the war table long past midnight studying maps of Nocturna's territories for the hundredth time. Red marks indicated vampire strongholds, blue showed our proposed invasion routes and black X marks where intelligence suggested they held their prisoners.

One of those marks was where Elara should be. Should be but might not be because the vampires moved valuable assets frequently to prevent exactly what I was planning.
