ERIC’S POV

Rapidly, I shook my head and blinked hard to steady my gaze and snap out of the jarring impact of the punch but the pain felt like a mallet was slammed against my face.

I tried to wriggle my nose but it felt numb. That was when I realized it was broken. The pain was intense though I did my best to endure. My nose throbbed like it had its own heartbeat, hot and metallic blood oozing out of my nostrils and onto my lips, the taste bitter in my mouth.
