My eyes cracked open as warm sunlight splashed over my face. A smile came to my lips when I remembered the previous evening’s physical pursuits. I rolled about and stretched on the bed, clad only in my stockings and a smile.

I patted the bed with my hand, expecting to find Alex laying there. But the more I reached, the less I found him. All I felt was a bare mattress. My lips twisted into a pout as I sat up and looked in earnest.
