A few weeks later…

Safely at home, Ian giggles as the tower of blocks we built tumbles to the carpet. He enjoys handing Ryan and me the blocks to construct the tower then watching me knock it over. I’d do it a million times in a row just to hear his delighted giggles.

Ryan excuses herself to find her cell phone as it signals a text from across the room. Ian doesn’t watch her; his eyes stay on the blocks and me.
