A week later…

After one night of rubbing Ryan’s back to help ease her into sleep, it’s now our new routine. I slide into Ryan’s bed while she completes her bedtime rituals. I have no idea how she keeps track of which lotion and cream goes where; it seems like too much work, but her soft, flawless skin assures me it works.

I fold the covers back on her side of the bed when she turns off the bathroom light and enters her bedroom. She’s still rubbing lotion ...
