In my typical Monday fashion, I ignore Ashley by playing online games until she’s finished giving the place a once over. Mom texts when they leave their house, so I scramble to change my clothes then set the table in preparation of their arrival.

I open the door, standing aside as they carry a slow cooker, dessert, and two grocery bags into my apartment. What’s with all of the food? There is no way the three of us will eat half of it. As usual, Mom overdid it.
