No gifts. I see no gifts. Finally, my family and friends honor my wishes for no presents on my birthday. Internally, I smile as I swallow my last bite of salad. I detest celebrating myself; tonight, we celebrate our friendships and I absolutely love it. I prefer to focus on our time together instead of the pressure of opening gifts and reacting appropriately to each. I’m more relaxed, and I love it.
