Pans clean and dishwasher running, Emma finishes wiping down the countertop while I wipe off the table. The domestic-ness of our meal does not escape me. I never experienced parents and children sharing a meal. Emma has, and I’m sure she misses it. I love that our new family unit made tonight special for her. Even better, Bonnie’s suggestion that we do this every week will ensure Emma will experience family time.
