I shot up to the snickers of my classmates, the last of the dream fading away with the hopeful look in Wes’ eyes. Shit, I must have fallen asleep in the lab. I hadn’t gotten to bed until maybe four in the morning just to turn over and have class at 7:30 a.m. for some God-forsaken reason.
