He was asking her to marry him, but it was obvious his ego was too big to let him do it the proper way.

But it didn't matter.

She said yes.

A scoff escaped me before I could hold it back, and I turned away. With everyone's attention on them, it was easy to slip away. Not out of the party though, like I would have preferred.
