Chapter 35 — I Am The Goddamn Sacrifice!

The sound of my phone ringing broke the silence that settled in the room after those words fell out of my lips.

Not bothering to exchange any more words lest I broke down completely, I walked past my father and out of the house. The Uber was waiting, and as I slipped in without a word, it felt like someone had shot an arrow at me.
