I didn't understand why Ashton couldn't just eat some of the warm food with me. Why did he have to make everything so complicated and tense? We both got this food together, he deserved it just as much as I did.

I watch as he swiftly snatches the food from the ground, picking up a few dead leaves in the process. Without warning, with one smooth, practiced motion, he bends down, gently but firmly picks me up, and throws me over his broad shoulder.
