When he pulled me in for the kiss, I almost lost myself completely in it.

But I couldn't just let him cover everything with a kiss.

Not after everything that happened.

Even though I wanted him... badly. I pushed him away.

“No,” I said, my breath shaky. “Don’t do that.”

He went still immediately.

My eyes were already filled with tears.

“If you’re going to believe him,” I said quietly, “then stay away from me.”
