I waited until we were in the car before I spoke.

Marco pulled out into the street and raised the partition without being asked.

I turned to face Dario. He was already looking at me.

His face still had that boardroom stillness on it, but something underneath it had changed.

“Harlow,” I said.

His jaw tightened.

“You know him beyond the board.”

“I know them off the record,” he said. “That’s the only way you survive sitting with men like that.” ...
