Emily’s POV

Sophia was in the library now.

Curled up in one of the big chairs with a book.

She looked up when I passed the doorway.

“You okay?” she asked calmly.

I forced a smile. “Yeah. Just tired.”

She frowned but didn’t push. “Want to hang out later? We can watch something stupid.”

“Maybe,” I said, as I kept walking.

I needed air, or something to do with my hands so my brain would keep spinning the same circles with Austin’s words.

All of it tangled together ...
