Dario’s POV

Leon confirmed at noon, he had learned over the years to bring me details because one bad move could wreck an entire operation.

He walked in, shut the door behind him, sat across from me, and dropped the file on the desk.

“She is alive,” he said.

The offshore account had pointed in this direction from the start. I’d suspected it for a while. Hearing the words still landed harder than I expected.

I let that sit for a second, then opened the file.
