Emily’s POV

The next morning Dario left early again.

He kissed me quickly on the lips, said he had to fly out for a few hours for business in Chicago, and would be back by dinner.

He held my face in both hands before he went.

Looked right into my eyes. “Stay inside today. Okay? No walks. No errands.”

I nodded and smiled. “Okay.”

He looked at my face one more time, then left.
