Chapter 24

The next morning came without color.

Gray light bled through the windows of the healer’s quarters, catching dust motes in slow motion. Serena sat by the table, her untouched tea cold. The herbs Lyra had mixed for her were supposed to help her rest. They didn’t. Nothing did.
