Matthew was quiet as he and I stepped into the elevator. I could hear his rapid breathing on our way down, getting more and more calm with each floor.

Wait. That was too many floors.

I looked over at the buttons and realized that he had pushed the button for the basement garage, not the recording studio. Matthew didn't seem concerned though as we continued to descend. Maybe there was something else he had forgotten ...
