Swearing in the jury seemed to take forever—or maybe it only felt like forever because of tension in the room.

I wasn’t oblivious to the stares Christiana was throwing Trinity’s way, and the manner in which in made her muscles constrict. I tried to place a soothing hand in hers, and Trinity took it, but it did very little to ease her.
