I stepped out of my car, the chill air turning my breath into short-lived white puffs. The wind picked up and a shiver overtook me. Pulling my coat tighter around my body, I fast walked across the lot to the warm shelter of the clinic’s lobby.

Just as I put my hand on the handle and pulled, the wind gusted. the door slammed shut tight.

It’s as if Mother Nature herself wants me to be cold.
