“I can’t believe we’re doing the kitchen remodel today,” I say, almost breathless.

I look around the kitchen. The fridge was moved to the living room so it can still be used but out of the way. The kitchen table is also now in the living room as well. The kitchen has been cleared of everything aside from the cabinets and the stove has been tossed in the dumpster out front.
