Moira’s POV

They meet near the tree line. I can't hear what they're saying, but I can see the way they stand together, the ease of it.

They talk for several minutes. When they finally part, Amelia says something that makes Logan's shoulders relax in a way I haven't seen in weeks.

The way they say goodbye—casual, comfortable, like they've done this a hundred times before—makes my stomach turn.

I wait until Logan's out of sight ...
