I felt terrible about what happened earlier. Vivian spilling that drink all over me wasn’t just embarrassing, it made me feel awful. The dress was new, something Tyler had gotten specifically for the event, and now it had this horrible stain right in the middle.

I couldn’t stop thinking about it, even after we got home. The image of everyone staring, the sticky feeling of the drink soaking through the dress wouldn’t leave my mind.
