Tyler's POV

I stood there at the doorway, staring as Emily ran down the stairs. I wanted to run after her, but couldn’t move. I couldn’t even breathe.

I felt like the ground had cracked open and swallowed everything that was starting to make sense to me.

My chest tightened painfully as I ran a hand through my hair, gripping it hard at the roots. What the hell was happening? How could this be real? Everything felt like it was getting out of my control, one piece at a time.
