Riko beams as she dials Saeko’s number for the fourth time that morning, not to discuss anything important, but to hear her voice. 

Saeko is much more relaxed over the phone than in person…she’s even cracked a total of two jokes and laughed three times at Riko’s own jokes. 

Even if her jokes were not funny, Riko would have laughed her ass off anyway. It’s not every day a heavily traumatized omega decides to look past her fears and crack a joke.
