Ember Frost’s POV

I looked down at his trembling hands and couldn't help wondering how much faith I should put in this examination.

About fifteen minutes later, the sanctuary doors burst open. I barely had a chance to look up before someone rushed straight to my side.

"Ember!"

Orion wrapped me in a fierce hug, holding on as though he was afraid I'd disappear again.

"You're awake," he breathed, his voice rough with relief. "You're really awake... I can't believe it."
