The warm evening breeze carried the scent of salt and jasmine as Jeremy’s fingers slowly lifted from my eyes.

My lashes fluttered open, and for a heartbeat, I simply stood there, frozen. The beach had been transformed. Delicate strings of fairy lights crisscrossed above, giving a golden glow over the sand, while clusters of deep red roses were scattered along the shoreline.
