I’m happy. Jareth and Briony are keeping the house.

I’ve been wanting to stop by and congratulate them properly, to bring a little something and tell them how glad I am they’ve settled in. But the bakery has been on fire lately—orders stacked on orders, customers nonstop. I could barely steal a breath between breaks, much less carve out time to think.

Today, though, I’m off.
