CHAPTER 5

"Who did it?" Caden asked instead-his fingers still inside of her as a warning to her.

"What are you going to do?" She demanded.

"Who did it?" He asked instead.

Presely went silent for a while. "A man... My car hit his and out of anger he slapped me" She lied instead, not wanting to meet his gaze.

Caden narrowed his eyes and chuckled. "Who the fuck are you playing dumb with?"

"I am not Lying" She protested, her chest rising and falling.

Chatter noise could be heard coming from the hallway and the door burst open revealing a group of people.

Presely yelped in surprise as she quickly hide her face in his chest, panting heavily... Meanwhile Caden seemed unbothered.

Their eyes widened in shock as they take in the scene in front of them.

Presely looked wrecked. Her hair was a mess, her lips swollen- her legs were still wrapped around his waist, while caden hands were either side of her, looking into space... Not even moving, and not planning to let her go.

The fact that she was naked made her more embarrassed and shameful... But caden broad body did well In covering her.

Her heart was pounding, as shame overtake her.

"What the heck are you doing here. I told you to come tomorrow. I has business to do" he said darkly _his voice calm, but dangerous.

"We are sorry... We thought you didn't want to see us. We will be outside now" One of them stated and teh the sound of hurried footsteps could be heard, alongside with the banging of the door.

Without thinking twice, she pushed him with all her might but he didn't burge... Instead he let down her legs from his waist gently. "Run away as usual little doll" He simply said, with his usual dark gaze.

Presely quickly slide down the table, took her bag and rushed out without glancing at him.

She got outside only to see the group... They were Caden friends_She could remember everyone of their face.

Their gaze pierced on her as she walked pass them.

"Presely.. it's nice to see you after a long while" One of the boys said, a hitched of mocking detected in his tone-making her stop on her track but she didn't turn around to look at them.

They were all angry with her... No doubt.

"Guess you are still stuck with the pyschopath even after being married" Benita, the only girl in the group said.

She walked away ignoring thier pierceful gaze.

Just as she got outside the Holt's company-morphy was coming down from the car.

"Mrs presely" he called with his usual smile but she wasn't no mood for that.

She was Still shivering, Shame and guilt still raiding all over her.

She was married, and she wasn't suppose to be attracted to another man.

"Did he like the proposal?" Morphy asked, and she just simply nodded her head.

She slide into the car.

"I will see you at work tomorrow" She said, and zoomed off.

Presely paced the length of the bedroom, her bare feet pressing into the cold marble floor, each step echoing her rising panic. The room was dimly lit, draped in muted tones of beige and gray, with elegant curtains swaying slightly from the soft breeze slipping through a half-open window. A chandelier hung above, casting scattered golden reflections across the walls. But even with its luxury, the room felt like a cage tonight.

Her heart was racing, thundering in her chest as images of her earlier encounter with Caden flashed behind her eyes. Her skin still burned with the memory.

She ran both hands through her hair, tugging at the strands in frustration. Please let this be a dream, she thought desperately—but deep down, she didn’t want it to be. That was the part that scared her most.

The door creaked open, and Alexander stepped inside.

He stopped at the threshold, his eyes narrowing slightly as he took in her restless pacing. “Are you okay?” he asked, his voice soft, laced with concern.

Presely gasped, startled by his sudden presence. She spun around, her chest still heaving. He raised an eyebrow at her, waiting.

She turned her gaze away and hissed under her breath, refusing to answer.

Alexander scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, then sighed. “I'm sorry,” he said
