Lucia’s POV
Someone was watching me.
I glanced sideways looking around but didn't see anyone suspicious watching me but I could swear someone was watching me a few seconds ago.
I shrugged off, wearing my signature smile as I faced my next two fans on the queue.
“OMG! I can't believe you're sitting right in front of me right now.” Two high school girls shrieked loudly, stepping found.
They were cute.
“I'm happy to see you both,” I replied, smiling and they shrieked excitedly again, jumping around like little kids being offered candy. They were so amusing to watch.
I took both their books from them, signing it as Alice passed me two t-shirts. “Hope you both didn't miss school to be here today?” I asked, returning their books and handing them a t-shirt each.
They both exchanged looks, grinning guiltily as they both avoided my eyes.
I shook my head, smiling. “You both know missing school is wrong.”
“We're sorry. We just didn't want to miss this chance to see you. We would not have been able to make it if we went to school first,” one of the girls muttered, picking her fingers.
I nodded in understanding. “It's fine but you should always prioritize your studies first. I wouldn't be where I am today if I didn't take my art classes seriously even though I almost died of boredom, sitting in class all day,” I rolled my eyes dramatically and both girls chuckled.
“Can we take a photo with you please?” They asked pouting and I glanced at Alice but she shook her head totally against it.
How can I say no to them when they are being so cute?
“Alright, I guess I can spare a single photo with you girls,” I grinned, avoiding Alice's eyes. I'm sure she's trying to smolder with her eyes right now.
They both came to stand beside me and took two selfies before finally walking away, thanking me non-stop.
The next person stepped forward and I frowned when I saw a little boy in glasses barely above 10 with my book in his hands.
“Hi,” he greeted shyly, his voice barely audible.
He's so fucking cute!
“Hi, charming,” I winked at him and he blushed, unable to meet my eyes.
“Are you lost or did you come with any of your parents?” I couldn't help but ask, glancing around to see if anyone could step forward to claim the cute little kid.
“My dad brought me here but he's outside the building. He said he can't be in here,” the boy said, frowning and I couldn't help the scowl that formed on my face.
What irresponsible dad leaves his kid alone and stays outside with this much crowd in the building? What if he gets lost or someone tries to hurt him?
Alice cleared her throat behind me and the scowl immediately wiped off my face, my signature smile back in place.
“Here,” the little boy handed me his book and I took it from him, surprised.
I can't believe any parent would let their kids read a book that is clearly rated 16+. I couldn't help but be curious about the boy's dad. Someone needs to give him a proper lecture on how to raise a kid.
“Here you go handsome,” I returned the book to him after signing it.
“I'm sorry, but I didn't prepare a shirt for kids because I wasn't expecting one your age,” I apologized and he frowned.
“I’ll take the T-shirt like that,” the boy said but I shook my head negatively.
“What about if you give me the shirt and I give it to my dad instead?” He pushed, refusing to give up and I thought about it for a while.
“Well I guess that could work,” I nodded, agreeing to it. I picked up a shirt and handed it to him and his face broke into a wide grin.
Not wanting to leave without having something of his own, I picked one of my rare and customized pens and gave it to him as well.
“You should have this. It's loaded with lots of good luck,” I winked at him and his grin only grew wider.
“Thank you so much, Luciana. Wait till I show Dad my new good luck charm.” I chuckled, watching him skip away happily.
I really wish to have a kid of mine as cute as he is one day.
“Hello Lucia,” a deep baritone voice greeted, making me frown.
I'll recognize that voice anywhere.
“Matteo,” I called, the name leaving a sour taste on my lips. Even Alice couldn't keep a scowl out of her face when she saw him. I wonder what the hell he is doing here in Mexico. Last I heard, he was in Russia trying to get a new contract.
“You look beautiful as always, sweetheart.” I rolled my eyes, grabbing the book from his hands and signing it before pushing it back into his hands with a T-shirt.
“You should move aside for the next person, Matteo,” I told him, trying to keep my voice level.
“We need to talk, Lucia,” he said arrogantly, refusing to leave.
“As you can see, I'm busy and I have fans to attend to. You either get your sorry ass out of my face or I'll have the security men dispose of you,” I glared at him, threateningly.
After seizing me up for a few minutes not reacting, he finally smiled. “Loosen up sweetheart. I'll wait for you till you're done.”
Before I could argue or decline he was already gone, leaving me upset.
I forced a smile on my face, attending to other fans until I needed a break.
Why the fuck did he have to show up?
“I need air,” I whispered to Alice and she nodded, immediately swinging into action. While I excused myself, she stepped in to keep the fans calm and entertained.
I went through the back door, breathing in fresh air as I stepped outside. I can't believe that asshole fucking followed me all the way to Mexico.
The nerves of him walking up to me and acting like everything was cool between us and he's still my boyfriend.
“Lucia,” Matteo called, finding me.
“Why the fuck are you still here, Matteo? I thought I made it pretty clear I wanted nothing to do with you?” I snarled at him, furious.
“We need to talk, Lucia,” he covered the gap between us, standing right in front of me.
“And what part of I don't want to talk to you don't you get?” I retorted, glaring at him.
“Do yourself a favor and stay the fuck away from me, Matteo.” I twirled around to leave and he grabbed my arm, pushing me roughly against the wall.
“We are not done talking, Lucia!” He says, scaring me.
“Yes, you are. You heard the lady, let her go.” A voice I’d recognize anywhere said, ripping Matteo's hands away from me, breaking it in the process while Matteo cried out in pure pain and agony.
Domenico.
Our eyes met and I felt every single nerve, cell and vein in my body shudder in response to his intense gaze.
“Good to see you again, Princess……”
