My stomach churned seeing Kaiser at the door. It was not the way I expected to start my morning.

"Does being engaged mean you can't have a meal with an old friend? " he really had the nerve to say. I stared at him dumbfounded and angry at the same time.

Those blue eyes were staring at me with a soft look that made my chest tighten. "Sorry, I really can't. I am about to go out," I said softly, knowing it is absolutely a bad idea to let him in.
