Betty’s POV

I stepped out of the bathroom after a hot shower, steam trailing behind me as I walked into the room. My skin still felt warm, but underneath it, I felt off. The dizziness hadn’t completely faded, and the painkillers were not as effective as before.

It was like my body was slowly ignoring them. Kyle did mention that as my disease progresses I might switch to stronger painkillers because my body might develop a resistance

Each day I was a foot closer to my grave.
