I quickly looked away, pretending to focus on my notebook, but I could still feel Kaiser’s presence beside me. It was ridiculous how aware I was of him, the faint scent of his cologne, the quiet confidence in the way he sat back in his chair like he owned the room. Although I was confused why he was here I tried to focus on the meeting and not his presence.
