When Diana arrived, she looked tired and wary. Her eyes went immediately to the whiskey bottles on my desk and I saw her shoulders tense, probably trying to figure out which version of me she was going to face tonight - the cruel one or the unpredictable one.

"You called for me, Alpha?" she said quietly, keeping her eyes on the floor.

"I have a task for you," I said, gesturing toward the bookshelf. "Organize my bookshelf. Alphabetically."
