Diana’s POV

The darkness wasn't complete and that was somehow worse than if it had been.

I existed somewhere between sleeping and waking, caught in a gray space that felt thick and heavy like water pressing down on me from all sides. I could hear things sometimes, voices that came and went like echoes bouncing off cave walls, distant and distorted enough that I couldn't quite make out the words but close enough that I knew they were real and not just dreams.
