Bella’s body fell fast.

I reached her just in time.

My arms wrapped around her waist before her head hit the sharp glass table corner. It would have cut her badly.

Bella gasped, eyes wide. Her breath shook against my neck. Her perfume smelled like flowers and expensive makeup.

Emma stood frozen, her hand over her mouth. Her eyes trembled like she almost saw something horrible.
